Covid-19 Protocol for IN-PERSON classes

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. Experts say that COVID-19 is highly contagious and spreads person-to-person between people who are in close contact with one another or through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

We monitor and will continue following  the recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Oregon Health Authority, and local officials and will adjust our policies accordingly if necessary.

Masks are welcome and encouraged but no longer mandatory. OHA still recommends masking for people at higher risk of COVID-19.  Please be respectful of each individual’s decision to wear a mask or not.

It is essential that you do not attend  class if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, are feeling sick in any way, or if you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Our normal cancellation policies apply, even in cases of sickness or COVID-19 infection. Homework and material covered for each class will always be conveniently available online in your class folder in Google drive, so you can come prepared to class even if you miss one.

Our  online classes are a very convenient option for those who want to take a class from the comfort and safety of your own home  and avoid the commute. Class content and curriculum is exactly the same between in-person and online classes. If you have any hesitance to accepting 100% of the risks involved in taking an in-person class, we strongly suggest you take an online class.

This information is provided so that each person attending our in-person classes can make a well-informed decision based on their own health situation and comfort level.

In order to participate in an IN-PERSON class at Tierra you will be required to sign a COVID-19 Acknowledgement & Liability Release.
