ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We are seeking an administrative assistant to manage our front desk, representing Tierra in interactions with the public, and providing excellent customer service to our students. Our ideal candidate is a proactive, outgoing, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual with exceptional communication skills who will thrive in a culturally diverse and community oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

-Provide friendly customer service in all front-desk communications - by phone, email, and in-person
-Promote our Spanish and cultural course programs to prospective students
-Serve as liaison in communications between students, instructors, and directors
-Process payments and student registrations
-Coordinate scheduling of private lessons
-Manage and update spreadsheets recording admin operations
-Organize and maintain class rosters and update attendance records
-Perform outreach to inform potential students about current course offerings
-Welcome and assist students on the first week of new courses (requires some schedule flexibility every 5 to 6 weeks)
-Promote our services through online marketing and social media
-Work independently on most tasks, maintaining frequent communication with directors
-Occasional lifting in excess of 25 lb, maintain general tidiness of common areas

REQUISITE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

-Bachelor's degree preferred or significant administrative work experience
-Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in a professional and confident manner
-Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities
-Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently
-Superior customer service skills and phone etiquette
-Proficiency using office software and google drive; accurate typing skills, ability to learn new software quickly
-Experience with marketing in online forums and social media a plus
-Authentic interest in language learning and culture, experience in learning Spanish a plus

POSITION DETAILS:

This is part-time position, 30 hours/week, 6 hours/day, Mon-Fri, with opportunities for growth if desired. Work hours are negotiable within reasonable business hours according to employee's preferences. Benefits include medical/vision/dental plan and paid vacation time.

SPANISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR 

Tierra Educational Center continually seeks enthusiastic candidates to join our dedicated team of Spanish instructors. Our instructors all have a native level Spanish fluency and excellent communication skills and are passionate about sharing language and culture with motivated students.

All positions are part time teaching small-group classes for adults, and we aim to offer teachers their ideal schedule and number of hours, usually between 3 and 15 per week. Most classes occur Monday - Thursday evenings, but there are also morning schedules and Saturdays available. In addition to schedule flexibility, we offer our teachers a competitive pay rate, opportunities for development, and a dynamic, supportive work atmosphere.

The ideal candidates have innate teaching skills, previous teaching experience, a solid understanding of Spanish grammar, a dynamic classroom presence, and talent for engaging students in interactive learning. There are also opportunities for teaching children’s classes, experience and interest in teaching children is an additional asset.
