Spanish Language Education & Cultural Immersion

Come experience and learn about one of the most emblematic Mexican celebrations at Tierra’s 5th annual “Día de Muertos” community fiesta. Join us on Friday, November 1st from 6:00 - 8:00pm for a memorable evening which will evoke the tastes, smells, and ambience of Mexico on this unique holiday which honors the dead by celebrating life, fondly remembering those who’ve past, and recognizing the intertwined nature of life and death with singular openness and humor.

Practice speaking Spanish and deepen your cultural understanding as we enjoy a delicious potluck meal including traditional dishes such as tamales, atole, and pan de muerto. We invite you to bring a photo of a deceased loved one to add to our altar, commemorating those we have lost with a beautiful ofrenda or “offering”. This exciting event is free and open to the community. We encourage you to bring a dish or beverage to share and to invite your family and friends of all ages!

As the days get shorter, seize the enthusiasm that learning a language brings out  by enrolling in a 5-week Spanish course in our Mid-Fall Term at Tierra, starting the week of November 11th!  With a maximum of 8 students, you’ll milk the benefits of studying at a swift pace in a small-group setting. With classes offered both in the mornings and evenings to fit any schedule, you’re sure to find a fantastic option for you in our wide range of courses for Spanish students of all levels.
